➢ Importance of navy: One of the few naval battles to be fought after the Second World War
➢ This war showed the importance of air tactics, and for air domination
➢ After the war, work was done to the island to make it easier for the military to be mobile
➢ The Ministry of Defense has been accused of ignoring Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, which leaft many veterans unable to work, and having prolonged personality disorders. Also, more veterans have committed suicide than the number of service men killed in combat
• Peace settlements and wars ending without treaties
➢ One June 14 the war came to an end when Argentina surrendered.
➢ The Argentinean troops were sent by to Argentina on the liner Canberra
➢ June 20: British retook the South Sandwich Island, and hostilities were declared to be over
➢ The war lasted 74 days, resulting in 255 British and 649 Argentinean soldiers, sailors and airmen dead, as well as three civilian Falklanders.
➢ All British classified information will become available in the year 2082
